Maguindanao councilman, 2 others nabbed for gun possession in Tacurong City
TACURONG CITY – A Maguindanaon councilor and two of his companions were arrested at a police checkpoint here Sunday for illegal possession of unlicensed firearms.
Chief Supt. Eliseo Tan Rasco, police regional director for Central Mindanao, said elements of Tacurong City PNP arrested Norie Maulana Mamalo, a member of Sangguniang Bayan of Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao and two of his companions during “Oplan Lambat Bitag” operation along the national highway in Barangay ECJ Montilla, Tacurong City.
Mamalo, Zams Kamal Musaiden and Reyno Silongan Lagawan, all residents of Barangay Barurao, Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao, were charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or illegal possession of guns.
Rasco said police operatives, led by Supt. Joefil Siason, Tacurong City police chief, recovered from the Mamalo and Musaiden two caliber 45 pistols and a 9mm pistol from Lagawan, all unlicensed.
Supt. Aldrin Gonzales, PRO-12 spokesperson, said the suspects are now detained at Tacurong City PNP lock up cell. /ee
