2 drug pushers dead in Albay shootout
LEGAZPI CITY – Two suspected drug pushers were killed in a shootout with anti-narcotics operatives in Sto. Domingo town, Albay on Monday night, police said Tuesday.
Senior Insp. Genevieve Oserin, chief of the Sto. Domingo police said Joseph Briones and his unidentified companion, upon noticing that they were transacting with undercover police, drew their .45 caliber pistols.
This prompted the police to shoot back, killing the two instantly in Barangay Lidong at
11:30 p.m.
Police recovered five sachets of suspected marijuana and two sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth) from the suspects.
Oserin said Briones was in the illegal drug watch list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. MAR S. ARGUELLES
