Lacson on Mindanao blasts: Is Congress’ support on martial law, BOL worth it?

After the recent blasts in Mindanao, Senator Panfilo Lacson is now asking: Is Congress’ support for martial law in Mindanao all worth it?

Lacson said the lawmakers have supported Malacañang on its declaration of martial law in Mindanao and in its desire to pass the Bangsamoro Organic Law since they had a “promise of peace” in view.

“With a promise of peace in Mindanao, we burned candles to pass the Bangsamoro Organic Law. That, after we supported the extension of martial law,” he said in a tweet on Monday.

“The recent bombings make us doubt if Congress’ cooperation with Malacañang is all worth it. It’s their turn to prove us wrong,” Lacson added.

Last Sunday, an improvised explosive device injured seven in General Santos City. It was followed by another blast hours later in North Cotabato.
