Trillanes on gov’t bid to arrest him: ‘We will not make it easy for them’

“We will not make it easy for them.”

Opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said this on Friday, still convinced that the Duterte administration would not stop until he is put behind bars.

This despite President Rodrigo Duterte’s latest statement that nobody was interested to arrest the senator.

“Nobody is interested to arrest [him]. The military does not have the interest. I do not have the interest. He can stay there as a boarder,” Duterte told reporters on Thursday.

However, Trillanes did not buy the President’s claim.

“Well, at the same time na o-obsessed sya sa akin di ba?” the senator said, noting how many times the President had mentioned his name in an interview early this week.

“This whole episode is about having me arrested. They can pretend all they want but nakita na ng mga kababayan natin yun and we will not make it easy for them,” said Trillanes.

He also continued to doubt Duterte’s assurance that he would not be arrested without a court order.

“It’s not going to be the the first time that Duterte flip flops. It’s not the first time. And galit na galit sya sa akin e. Natural, any opportunity, the first opportunity he will get, gagawin nya yun,” Trillanes said.

“You can see the obsession of this guy sa akin…Gigil na gigil ito. Hindi ko padadaliin yung pantasya nya,” he added.   /vvp
