Undecided Sereno wants to meet first with Robredo — Pangilinan
Barely a month before the filing of certificates of candidacy, former Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno remained undecided whether or not she would run for senator in 2019.
“Wala pa, wala pa,” Sereno told reporters at the Senate on Wednesday after paying a visit to opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
After visiting Trillanes, she met with Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, president of the Liberal Party.
Pangilinan said they talked about the upcoming elections but nothing was finalized yet.
“We spoke about the Senate slate and the coming elections but she (Sereno) has requested to see the VP as well,” he said in a text message, referring to Vice President Leni Robredo.
“And so until then, we have not finalized anything,” Pangilinan added.
Sereno was among those being considered by the opposition to be part of its senatorial slate next year. /je
