Ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno is undecided whether or not she will run in the 2019 midterm elections.

Sereno, in a television interview on Tuesday, admitted that she was aware of public discussions on her possible entry into politics.

“Actually, many are already discussing it (my possible entry into politics), but I need to think this over,” Sereno said in Filipino over ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol.

The chief justice made the admission on Tuesday evening after the SC en banc voted 8-6 to make her ouster from the High Court permanent.

“Politics isn’t easy, that’s why I need to think hard about it. I’m focusing my energy now on rallying Filipinos who want to speak out against the dangers on our democracy,” the ousted chief magistrate said.

“To those people discussing whether or not I should run, I’ll just let them be. I wouldn’t meddle. I’m not rushing my decision on this. The right time will come for that, she said.
