Caloocan Mayor Echiverri late for Bonifacio Day ceremonies

MANILA, Philippines — The 148th day celebration of the birthday of Andres Bonifacio at the Bonifacio Monument in Caloocan City was delayed by one hour due to the late arrival of Mayor Recom Echiverri.

The program was slated at 7 a.m. with a flag raising ceremony and the pledge of allegiance, followed by a wreath laying and a 21-gun salute and the singing of Caloocan City’s Mabuhay Ka.

This will be followed by the oathtaking of the City’s  new batch of Barangay Tourism Officers.

But the crowd, composed of employees from the City Hall, barangay officials, students , non-government organizations and representatives from the business sector, had to wait Echiverri who was to lead the ceremonies.

The Caloocan police implemented a traffic rerouting scheme to ease the  build-up along Edsa-Monumento.
