Roque on possible Senate bid: We will soon find out

“We will soon find out.”

This was Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque’s response when asked about his possible Senate bid in the coming mid-term elections in 2019.

Roque, in a Palace briefing on Monday, added that “in 20 days or so,” he will decide whether or not he will seek a Senate seat.

The Palace official has been included in the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) initial roster of personalities who may comprise the party’s senatorial slate in the upcoming elections.

Roque, whom the President Rodrigo Duterte earlier endorsed to run for a Senate seat, also ranked 25th to 33rd in a pre-election survey last June 2018.

He added that Cabinet members who will run in 2019 midterm polls will be “deemed resigned from their posts.” /je
