Tarlac showcases products at China-Asean expo
STA. IGNACIA, Tarlac — Tarlac province’s export quality products are currently on display in Nanjing, China as part of the 15th China-Asean Expo that runs from September 9 to 16.
Billed there as the “Province of Charm,” the Tarlac delegation is exhibiting its “Calamansi juice” products made in Pura town, peanut butter produced in Capas town, bags from Victoria town, and woodcraft and pottery from this town.
Pascasio’s Pottery intends to start an export line in China, according to its owners, former migrant workers Carmelita and Tony Pascasio, who started thee business as a backyard enterprise in 2005 with P20,000 as starting capital.
The couple produces ceramic products made of black clay cooked in kilns for 48 hours. Pascasio’s Pottery began exporting to Japan in 2012.
Carmelita said China, which has centuries-old tradition of producing jars and ceramics, will be their next target. /ee
