Sept. 9 to 10
Minuluan Festival
The city of Talisay in Negros Occidental province pays homage to its patron saint, San Nicolas de Tolentino, and celebrates its arts and culture in the last two days of the festival.
Among the closing activities are a gastronomic feast, a beauty pageant, parish procession, concelebrated Mass, street dancing and concert.

Article continues after this advertisementResidents of Surigao City in Surigao del Norte province give thanks to the city’s patron saint, San Nicolas de Tolentino.
The celebration is highlighted by an ethnic dance performed by the indigenous group Mamanwa, the city’s early settlers.
Other festivities include a barangay night; an urban poor, cooperatives and women’s night; and procession.

Singkaban Festival
An arts and culture festival in Malolos City, Bulacan province, featuring “singkaban,” Filipino word for decorated bamboo arch used as a welcome signage of a town or city during fiestas.
Singkaban also refers to “Sining at Kalinangan ng Bulacan” (Arts and Culture of Bulacan).
Among the festival’s highlights are “balagtasan,” “kundiman” and folk dances.
The festivities coincide with the celebration of Linggo ng Bulacan.
