Duterte: Trillanes became corrupt

DAVAO CITY — President Duterte slammed Senator Antonio Trillanes IV Saturday when questioned what his critic has done with the military since amnesty was granted to him and when he became a senator.

“It was all Trillanes, pretending to be a crusading soldier and as a matter of fact wala naman syang ginawa. Na-increase ba ang suweldo ng sundalo maski (he did not do anything. Was the salary of a soldier increased even) five percent?” the President said.

“He did not only abandon the vision of the military … he became corrupt like collecting sa mga negosyante (from businessmen),” the President added.

The President, during his arrival speech at Davao International Airport here, boasted he increased the salaries of the military and the police months after he assumed office.  JEOFFREY MAITEM
