Clashes shut highway down

CAMP SIONGCO, MAGUINDANAO—Authorities shut down a highway linking the provinces of North Cotabato and Maguindanao for more than an hour as soldiers clashed with Moro renegades allied with Islamic State (IS).

“Fighting is still ongoing,” said Col. Alfredo del Rosario, 602nd Infantry Brigade chief, in a text message.
