Drugs, weapons found in surprise inspection at Cebu provincial jail

CEBU CITY—Suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and improvised weapons were seized during a surprise “greyhound” (inspection) operation inside the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) on Friday.

Aside from the drugs and weapons, operatives from the Cebu Provincial Police Office and the and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) also seized other contraband items such as speakers during the search.

Police, however reported not finding any contraband items inside the cell of self-confessed drug lord and high-risk inmate Alvaro “Barok” Alvaro. /muf
