The low pressure area (LPA) spotted east of Luzon may develop into a tropical cyclone over the next 24 hours, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

Pagasa spotted the LPA 820 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience localized thunderstorms.  /muf
