Cops eye 2 men as persons of interest in bit actor’s slay
SAN PEDRO CITY – The police have tagged as persons of interest two men, who were last seen leaving the house of Arnold Corpuz days before the bit actor was found dead in his home in Silang, Cavite.
Supt. Resty Soriano, Silang police chief, said on Tuesday that a security camera in Barangay Biga caught the two men leaving the victim’s house in the wee hours of August 27.
Relatives found Corpuz’s body in the afternoon of August 29 after Corpuz failed to contact them for days.
Corpuz was found slumped on the floor wearing only an underwear and socks. He had multiple stab wounds.
In a phone interview, Soriano said the men “looked anxious” as they left the victim’s residence.
“You’ll know if someone seemed to be looking over his shoulder. When they passed by the CCTV (camera), one of them tried to conceal his face with the hood of his jacket,” he added.

Soriano said an initial autopsy showed that Corpuz suffered nine fatal wounds from a sharp object.
The police recovered a pair of shears and a knife which they believed were the weapons used.
“We believe there was a commotion (prior to the killing). It could not have been done by a lone perpetrator,” he said.
