30 grenades found in Davao’s coastal village

DAVAO CITY – Bomb experts of Task Force Davao have recovered at least 30 pieces of heavily corroded grenades in the coastal area of Barangay Sirawan, Toril district in this city on Tuesday morning.

Captain Jonathan Sarausas, speaking for Task Force (TF) Davao, said the Sirawan village captain called the attention of the troops stationed in the area about two corroded hand grenades in Sitio Baybay in Sirawan.

Authorities identified the explosives as grenade hand MK2.

Task Force Davao sought the help of Davao City Police Office’s Technical Support in recovering the MK2 hand grenades.

The grenades are now in the custody of TF Davao’s explosive ordnance disposal team, according to Sarausas.
