Bus conductor arrested for posing as NBI agent

/ 05:03 AM September 03, 2018

The Quezon City police arrested on Saturday a man who pretended to be an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation just to avoid apprehension.

Displaying an NBI badge and a gun, Delmar Limbaga almost convinced the police but he failed to show an NBI identification card to prove his claim.

The 23-year-old Limbaga, who was really a bus conductor, had been flagged at a checkpoint on Bicol Street at Barangay Commonwealth around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. He was reportedly not wearing a motorcycle helmet at that time.

The police said he introduced himself as an NBI agent, presenting a badge as proof although he could not show an ID card from the bureau.

Aside from usurpation of authority and violation of the Motorcycle Helmet Act, Limbaga would also be charged with illegal possession of firearms after he yielded a .45-caliber firearm. — WITH A REPORT FROM CEDRIX PEREZ
