Drug pusher killed in Caloocan police buy-bust

A 33-year old suspected drug pusher was killed by the police in a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City Monday night.

A police report on Tuesday showed that suspect Rodel Tayag was killed in a shootout in Purok 2, DM Compound, in Caloocan City at about 11:30 p.m.

Police said Tayag opened fire when he sensed that his buyer was a law enforcement agent.

Authorities fired back which resulted to the death of Tayag on the spot, according to the report. He died on the spot.

Recovered from the scene were five spent shells and two bullets for a 9-mm pistol, a revolver with three bullets, a pouch containing a digital weighing scale, lighter, four sachets of suspected shabu, and P500 cash.

The suspect’s body was taken to an accredited morgue of the Philippine National Police Scene of the Crime Operatives for a medico-legal examination, according to the report. /cbb
