CITY OF CALAPAN – A “habal-habal” (motorcycle-for-hire) driver suspected to be a drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in Puerto Galera town, Oriental Mindoro, late Monday evening, police said.
Supt. Imelda Tolentino, information officer of the Mimaropa police, said antidrug agents bought two sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) for P1,000 from Reynaldo Medillo in Sitio Minolo in Barangay San Isidro at 11:05 p.m.
Medillo allegedly sensed that he was transacting with the police so he opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate.
Recovered from Medillo were a 9-mm Bersa pistol and 12 sachets of suspected shabu. /cbb
