The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that services in its consular office in Ilocos Norte have been suspended due to heavy rain.
In an advisory on Saturday, the DFA said services its consular office in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte will remain suspended “until further notice.”
“Accommodation schedule of applicants with confirmed passport appointments on the affected date/s will be announced once the consular office reopens,” the DFA said.
The DFA reminds applicants to bring a printed copy of their confirmed passports appointments in order to be accommodated by DFA personnel once the consular office reopens.
In its Saturday forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the Ilocos region will be affected by heavy monsoon rain due to the storm-enhanced southwest monsoon.
Pagasa also warned residents in the affected areas to brace for possible flooding and landslides due to scattered moderate to heavy rain. /muf
