5.2 earthquake hits Eastern Samar town
A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck 72 kilometers northeast of the town of Guiuan, Eastern Samar on Friday noon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to the latest bulletin from Phivolcs, Intensity II was felt in Borongan, Eastern Samar. The shallow tectonic movement was located one kilometer below the ground.
No damage has been recorded and no tsunami warning was raised. However, Phivolcs warned residents of possible aftershocks. /jpv
