NCRPO Chief Director General Guillermo Eleazar told INQUIRER.net in a text message that the suspect had been reportedly going in and out of the Philippines and Taiwan for about a year and a half before the arrest.

Initial investigation revealed that the suspect has been under police surveillance after they received a report that he is involved in smuggling firearms.

During the arrest operation, the suspect was supposed to leave the hotel but rushed back inside when he sensed the presence of policemen in the area, according to authorities.
