P4.4M worth of shabu, 4 guns seized in Cavite, Laguna, Rizal drug busts

LUCENA CITY — More than P4.4 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) and four illegal firearms were seized from nine suspects in anti-illegal drugs operations on Tuesday and Wednesday in Cavite, Laguna and Rizal provinces.

The Region 4A police reported that members of the Cavite police drug enforcement unit and local cops in Bacoor City arrested “Michael,” “Joedel,” “Matt,” “Reymart,” “John Paul,” and “Jerwin” at 3 a.m. Wednesday after they sold a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Molino 4.

Seized from the suspect were four knot-tied plastic bags and two sealed plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 500 grams worth P3,400,000.

The operatives also confiscated a .45 pistol with six bullets and a .22 handgun loaded with one bullet from the members of the group.

Authorities also seized one mobile phone to be examined for records of drug transactions.

The report tagged the six arrested suspects as among the persons in the police drug watch list as HVIs or high-value individuals. HIV are financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.

In another sting operation in Barangay Cuyab, San Pedro City, Laguna, policemen nabbed “Ferdinand” at 12:16 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect, also an HVI, was caught in alleged possession of one plastic sachet of shabu weighing 108 grams and valued at P734,400.

In Rizal, anti-illegal drug operatives in Taytay town busted “Dan Jason” in Barangay Sta. Ana at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday.

The operatives seized two plastic sachets containing shabu worth P68,000.

During routine frisking, Dan Jason, an identified street pusher in the locality, was also found with an undocumented caliber .357 revolver with three bullets.

At 11:40 p.m., the same team of drug enforcers held “Mohalidin” in Barangay San Juan.

The suspect, another HVI was found in alleged possession of two sachets of meth weighing 30 grams worth P204,000 and an illegal caliber .38 revolver with three bullets.

All arrested suspects are under police custody and will face corresponding criminal charges.
