Sotto presented to the media on Thursday the results of his drug test, which showed he was negative for cocaine, ecstacy, methamphetamine, morphine, and tetrahydrocannabinol.
He clarified though that a person who would test positive for a certain drug does not necessarily mean that he or she is a drug dependent or drug addict.
“Once you test positive, there’s a confirmatory test that should be done,” the Senate leader pointed out.
“Kaya hindi dapat kinakabahan ang ating mga kababayan pag magpapa drug test (People should not be afraid of taking a drug test),” he added.
Aside from Sotto, Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senators Gringo Honasan, Loren Legarda, Bam Aquino, and Antonio Trillanes IV also took the drug test.
Trillanes also tested negative for any illegal substance. /ee
