Suspect killed, two others on the run after robbing taxi in Quezon City

An unidentified suspect was killed while two others are still at large after an alleged robbery of a taxi on Tuesday evening along Novaliches in Quezon City.

Based on a police report on Wednesday, the suspects robbed the taxi of Edgardo Montinola Jr. at around 9:45 p.m. the previous day.

Members of the Quezon City Police District followed the taxi but the suspects allegedly opened fire upon sensing that they were being tailed by the police.

The police retaliated, leading to a shootout where one of the suspects was killed on the spot at around 11:45 p.m, according to the report.

Authorities said the slain suspect was in his 40s and is about 5’7’’ in height, and has tattoos on his left wrist and arm. He is still unidentified as of this posting.

The two other suspects who evaded arrest are still at large as of 12:00 noon of Wednesday .

Police recovered from the scene a 30-caliber revolver with 6 bullets, five bullets for a caliber 9-millimeter revolver, a sachet of suspected shabu, cash worth P700, and the taxi with plate number UVE 665.

The taxi driver positively identified the slain suspect, according to the police.   /vvp
