DBM releases P2.29B for support, livelihood of Marawi families

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released P2.29 billion to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for the rehabilitation and recovery of war-torn Marawi City.

The DBM said the total amount was charged to the Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Program (MRRRP) under the 2018 National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NDRRM) Fund.

The amount of P2,286,060,364.80 was released for the implementation of the Basic Transitory Family Support Package, Provision of Livelihood Settlement Grants and Operational Support Fund.

The DBM said a total of P10 billion was appropriated in the 2018 General Appropriations Act (GAA) under the MRRRP.

Of the P10 billion, a total of P4.59 billion has been released, the agency added. /cbb
