President Rodrigo Duterte slammed Communist Party of the Philippines founder Jose Maria Sison anew, saying the exiled leader “really abused” his own mind.
“Let me just also disabuse the mind of Sison. You know his mind is really abused by himself,” Duterte said in a speech during the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Visayas Island Cluster Conference in Cebu City.
Duterte and Sison were again in a word war after the communist leader speculated that the President was in a state of coma.
The President said he was “once a disciple” of Sison, being his former student at the Lyceum University. “You want the world to kneel before you,” he said.
Bomb the rebels
The President made a stern warning against the communist rebels following their attack against police stations in the provinces. He said he will not hesitate to bomb the rebels.
“Do not go violent because I don’t like that. I will not hesitate to bomb you,” he said.
Duterte, whose government initiated peace talks with the rebels but the talks later collapsed, said he is ready to go to war with the communist guerrillas.
“Wag na natin patagalin.Tapusin na natin ito if gusto niyo (Let us not delay this. If you want, we can finish this),” he told the New People’s Army who has been waging war against the government for almost 50 years.
He also mocked the communist movement, saying they would never be able to take over the government.
“You cannot destroy the government, not in a million or a thousand years,” he said. /eel
