Using smartphones is not President Rodrigo Duterte’s thing as he admitted that he cannot learn how to use modern mobile devices anymore.
To make up for his incompetence in harnessing the power of smartphones, Duterte bared that he uses old keypad phones.
“Ipakita ko ang cellphone ko sa inyo, ang problema dyan, nagbalik ako sa pindot pindot lang, because bugok na kasi ako, I cannot learn anymore,” Duterte said in a speech in Cebu City on Tuesday.
Duterte criticized smartphones for being difficult to use, saying that the wrong texts and numbers always appear on the screen when he tries to press the keys.
He also advised old people not to use them anymore because the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States may be tapping into their phones.
“Kaya tayong matatanda, huwag kayong gumamit nyan. If you do not really consciously spend time to study how it works, better lay off. Madidisgrasya ‘yan. ‘Yan ang sinasabi sa akin ng mga sundalo,” the Chief Executive said.
“Ito na lang pindot pindot, kasi ito mahirap i-intercept. Lalo na ‘yung pinaka-old model. Kung gamitan old model, mahirapan ang… but I know that ang nakikinig sa akin ay United States, sigurado ‘yan ang CIA, kaya iyan ang papatay sa aking mga ulol na iyan,” he said. /vvp
