Aug. 19 to 31
Cebu’s 449th founding anniversary
Final stretch of the monthlong anniversary celebration of the province of Cebu’s creation as the first Spanish province in the Philippines as decreed by King Philip II of Spain.
Activities include a local job fair, media night, emergency responders’ congress and a beauty pageant.
Aug. 22 to 24

Article continues after this advertisementThe rich culinary tradition of Catbalogan City in Samar province takes center stage in the festival, with the theme: “Nurturing Nature, Conserving Culture.”
A culinary expo, dubbed “Karasa (yummy) Katbalogan,” will showcase local delicacies.
A grand parade that pays tribute to local fishermen will be held, followed by the feast day celebration of the town’s patron saint, St. Bartholomew, the miraculous apostle.
Aug. 25
Iloilo City’s 81st Charter Day celebration
Culmination of the monthlong celebration of Iloilo City’s Charter Day anniversary in Iloilo province.
This year’s festivities, with the theme “Fostering Local Community by Strengtheninig Global Connections,” aim to promote Iloilo City as a tourist destination to further stimulate local economic growth in the province.
