Ex-Bataan vice gov passes away
ORANI, BATAAN – Former Bataan vice governor Serafin Q. Roman died on Thursday afternoon (Aug. 16) at a Manila hospital where he was treated for a lingering illness. He was 82.
“Apin” to his friends and colleagues, Roman began his political career as a municipal councilor, vice mayor and mayor of Orani town in the 1970s and 1980s. He served as provincial vice governor for three consecutive terms during the 1990s.
He also built a fortune from the development of vast agricultural lands.
Roman is survived by three children, among them incumbent Orani municipal councilor Emmanuel Roman. The family has yet to release details of his funeral. GREG REFRACCION
