DAVAO CITY—The city government said it would extend financial help to Marikina, its sister city that was hit by widespread flooding last week.
The Davao City council this week approved the release of P1-million aid for Marikina City. Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag said Mayor Sara Duterte asked the council to give her the authority to use a portion of the city government’s quick response fund to help Marikina.
The money is intended to help residents of 10 villages hit by floods. —INQUIRER MINDANAO
