Vice President Leni Robredo’s legal adviser on Wednesday hit back at President Rodrigo Duterte after the chief executive issued fresh criticism against her leadership ability.
Lawyer Barry Gutierrez, in a Twitter post, criticized Duterte’s appointees he deemed “competent,” calling out officials from the Department of Tourism (DOT), National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and the National Food Authority (NFA).
“Mga ‘competent’ ayon sa Pangulo: Tourism Secretary na walang ginawa kundi mangurakot, NDRRMC head na nawawala kapag baha, NFA chief na naubusan ng bigas. Kanya na ‘yung endorsement niya, sumunod na lang tayo sa Konstitusyon,” Gutierrez wrote.

Duterte previously called Robredo “incompetent” to replace him as the country’s leader.
This came after the Vice President expressed willingness to take the role of leading the opposition.
More recently, Duterte said he will only step down from Malacañang if the likes of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. or Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero would be his successor.
“I think deep in my heart, if you follow the succession and Robredo takes over, hindi niya kaya,” Duterte said in a speech on Tuesday night.
“Hindi niya kaya, that’s my honest opinion ko lang. Kung sino lang sana diyan, in the likes of Escudero or Bongbong Marcos,” he added. /je
