Police ask BI to place 3 Ramgen murder suspects on watchlist

/ 10:59 PM November 28, 2011

The police have sought the inclusion of three suspects in the Ramgen Bautista murder case in the Bureau of Immigration (BI) watchlist to prevent them from leaving the country.

Chief Inspector Enrique Sy, head of Task Force Ramgen, said they had asked the bureau to place Glaiza Visda, Norwin de la Cruz and Ryan Pastera on the its watchlist while a preliminary investigation to determine their alleged involvement in the killing was ongoing.

The request was made late last week, he added.

A witness earlier tagged Visda and her boyfriend, De la Cruz, as the link between the alleged masterminds and Pastera, who was supposedly ordered to find a hired gun to kill Bautista.

The couple surrendered to the police almost two weeks ago but Pastera remains at large.

The witness also identified the masterminds as Bautista’s younger siblings, Ramon Joseph “RJ” and Ma. Ramona. RJ was arrested on October 31 but Ramona’s whereabouts remain a mystery after she left the country on November 4.

In an affidavit she submitted last week, Visda denied that she was involved in the killing although she affirmed that the plot to kill the victim was hatched by RJ, Ma. Ramona and their sister, Maria Ragelyn “Gail” Bautista-Furuyama.

Sy, meanwhile, said that police investigators were preparing their reply to Visda’s affidavit although he described most of her claims as part of her attempt to confuse investigators.

“Of course, we will still verify [her] claims, it’s just that some of the details [she] provided seem to be an attempt to mislead [investigators],” he added.

Bautista, the eldest among nine children born to former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. and Genelyn Magsaysay, was killed by a lone gunman inside the family’s house at BF Homes Parañaque on October 28. His girlfriend, Janelle Manahan, survived the attack and is recuperating at a hospital.
