What internal problem?
As far as Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, there is no squabbling within the ruling PDP-Laban party.
“The so-called ‘internal problem’ s a figment of the imagination of some people. An image they want to keep alive in the media,” Pimentel, party president, said in a Viber message to reporters.
“We know it’s political season already. Hence, PDP should not allow itself to be distracted by all these noise maneuverings and psywar tactics,” the senator added.
Pimentel made the remark when sought for comment on Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio’s statement that her group, Hugpong ng Pagbabago, would only ally with PDP-Laban once the latter fixes its internal problem.

“We would like to have an alliance with PDP but sabi kasi noong governors and officers namin during our discussion namin is that ayusin muna nila yung internal problem nila kasi meron silang internal problem sa PDP-laban,” Duterte-Carpio said in an interview in Paranaque City.
(We would like to have an alliance with PDP but according to our governors and officers during our discussion, they [PDP-Laban) have to fix first their internal problem because they have internal problem in PDP-Laban)
“So once maayos ng presidente nila yun then we really are open because we need other national parties na kaalyado,” the mayor added.

A group claiming to be “genuine” members of PDP-Laban recently held an assembly and elected its new leaders.
Before this, two party members— now Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Davao Del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez —were embroiled in a leadership row in the House of Representatives. /vvp
