New NLEx ramps planned to ease Bulacan traffic
BOCAUE, BULACAN — New access ramps along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) are going to be built to help address heavy traffic in Bulacan roads.
A southbound entry ramp in Barangay Taal here and northbound entry and exit ramps in Barangay Tambubong are being planned to manage traffic along the Bocaue interchange.
The interchange will serve as an alternative route for motorists bound for Pandi and nearby towns, said Rodrigo Franco, president of North Luzon Expressway Corp.
A new bypass road will be built from Gov. F. Halili Avenue in Barangay Turo to the southbound portion near the Bocaue toll plaza, so motorists can drive to Metro Manila without passing through Bocaue interchange.
The ramps of the Bocaue interchange will be expanded to accommodate the additional lanes of a bridge being built by the Department of Public Works and Highways, Franco said.
The northbound and southbound access roads at the Balagtas interchange will also be expanded so motorists driving from the town toward the north will no longer use local roads to access the Sta. Rita interchange. —CARMELA REYES-ESTROPE
