The family of a Filipino-American tourist who went missing in Paris, France, on July 14 has appealed to the public for help in locating him.
Christopher Buluran, 46, was taken to a hospital, Hopital Europeen Georges-Pompidou, around 10:30 a.m. on July 14 after he fainted in the street while waiting for the Bastille Day parade to begin.
As seen from a footage from a closed-circuit television camera, “Chris left by walking out of a side entrance around 9:50 p.m. unknown to the hospital staff,” Buluran’s wife, Aura, said in an interview with the Inquirer.
Aura said she and their son did not stay overnight at the hospital and found out that Buluran was missing only when they came to pick him up around 11 a.m. the following day.
Buluran was last seen wearing a light gray shirt, light brown shorts and black shoes. He stood 5 feet and 8 inches tall and had black hair.
He also had a tattoo that reads “TPB” on his right middle finger and a scar on his left hand.
He does not speak French but only English and Filipino.
A diabetic, Buluran had no medication with him when he went missing and may need medical attention if he becomes disoriented. He had left his valuables, including his identification cards, wallet, phone and eyeglasses, with his family when he was admitted to the hospital.
French authorities and the US and Philippine embassies have been notified about Buluran’s disappearance.
