PH Azkals dazzle young participants in football clinic
MEMBERS of the Philippine Under-13 (RP U13) training pool tagged the “Little Azkals” and around 200 other kids aged 12 years and below had fun learning from the Azkals yesterday in the clinic organized by the Cebu Football Association (CFA) at the Aboitiz Sportsfield in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
The 12-Under kids who went one on one with the Azkals were members of five different football clubs here in Cebu City that held clinics over the summer. These were Don Bosco, ML (M. Lhuillier) Canduman, Guiseppe, Subangdaku Football Club and Blessed John.
CFA president Richard Montayre said he considered the activity successful because they had a good turnout of kids with the clubs able to gather numerous members who were already done with their respective clinics.
“The kids enjoyed and they are looking forward to becoming part of the Little Azkals and the Azkals someday,” Montayre said.
Montayre also clarified that it was not CFA that decided to charge P100 to those who wanted to watch the clinic.
“It is Aboitiz who decided to charge to cover for their expenses of the activity because they did not ask for payment for the use of the venue,” Montayre explained.
