CITY OF CALAPAN – The Mimaropa police was awarded Best Police Regional Office for Human Rights Desk during the 117th Police Service Anniversary celebration at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Wednesday, a police official said.
This was for having zero cases of human rights violations from January 2017 to April 2018, said Supt. Imelda Tolentino, information officer of Mimaropa police.
“Based on the evaluation of human rights affairs office at Crame, only Mimaropa has neither reported incident nor complaints against human rights violence perpetrated by the police. We also had always been on time in submitting reports and regular in checking on custodial facilities,” she said.
Tolentino said it’s been a bloodless war on crimes when they showed the way of arresting suspects without spilling blood during several intensified anti-criminality drives in the region through the conduct of the Enhanced Managing Police Operations formerly called the “One Time, Big Time Operations.”
Chief Supt. Emmanuel Licup, Mimaropa police director, would receive the award in behalf of the regional police, she said.
