Drug suspect shot, three nabbed in Lucena

LUCENA CITY – A suspected drug pusher was wounded, while three others were arrested in a drug raid here Sunday night, police said.

Supt. Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, said anti-illegal drugs operatives armed with a search warrant, raided the house of Nelson Chua, 58, in Barangay Ibabang Dupay about 10:30 p.m.

During the implementation of the warrant, Chua reportedly drew a caliber .38 revolver and was about to shoot the raiders when a policeman shot him, hitting him in the right thigh.

Authorities also arrested Rizalina Tolentino, 50; Aldrin Aparte, 49; and Lem Garcia, 50, who were all found sniffing shabu inside Chua’s house during the raid.

Policemen seized several sachets of shabu weighing 17 grams with an approximate street value of P31,450, a caliber .38 revolver with two bullets, one hand grenade and several drugs paraphernalia.

Chua was brought to the Quezon Medical Center for treatment while the rest of the suspects were detained at the city police jail. /cbb
