Alleged drug pusher killed in Albay buy-bust

LEGAZPI CITY – An alleged drug pusher was killed in an anti-illegal drugs operation here Sunday night, police said.

Eduardo Garcia, of Las Pinas City, allegedly resisted arrest and pulled a .45-caliber pistol after sensing that he was transacting with an undercover policeman along the Legazpi Boulevard, a popular tourist destination in this city, at about 9:45 p.m., said Supt. Nilo Berdin, chief of the Legazpi City police.

Garcia shot the undercover policeman, prompting the police team to shoot back.

Berdin said the police recovered from Garcia two sachets of shabu or crystal meth worth P68,000 and cash amounting to P20,000.

“He was one of the suppliers of shabu in Legazpi and Daraga (town),” Berdin said. /cbb
