Boy killed, 6 others hurt in Cabanatuan City fire

CABANATUAN CITY – A one-year-old boy died while six members of his family were injured when fire razed three houses in Sitio (subvillage) Boundary, Barangay (village) Caalibangbangan here at 1:50 a.m. on Friday (Aug. 3), a belated police report says.

Arwin Xian Legaspi perished in the blaze.

Those injured were carpenter Ariel Legaspi, 52, his partner Clarissa Gamilla, 40, and their other children Bryan, 14; Angelica, 8; and Justine Gamilla, 14.

Ariel’s mother, Jovita Legaspi, 63, was also injured.

The Bureau of Fire Protection put out the fire at 3 a.m.

All three houses were made of light materials.  Investigators have not yet determined what caused the blaze. ARMAND GALANG
