Anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested 14 people and also seized at least P470,000-worth of shabu from them in Marikina City.
Combined forces from Marikina City Police and Eastern District Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) implemented search warrants in Barangay Tumana on Thursday that led to the arrest of drug personalities and confiscation of 65 kilograms of shabu placed in 44 sachets and other drug paraphernalia.
A report from the Eastern Police District (EPD) identified the suspects as Jhohanie Biston, Virgilio Piala, Indar Magangcong, Rowel Cruz, Almair Bao, Aries Lim, Archie Rivas, Ryan Bermillo, Jay-R Santos, Renevin Baylon, Raymond Malabiga, Ronaldo Liwanag, Kathleen Dizon, and May Anne Camacho.
According to the EPD, the arrests were made through the power of search warrants in the house of Biston – the alleged leader of the drug group – in Barangay Tumana, and the area where the other suspects hang out at Singkamas and Malunggay Streets.
The suspects, who are now under the custody of PDEA, will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /kga
