Pa, son slain by gunmen inside home in Camarines Sur
PILI, Camarines Sur – A father and his son were shot and killed by unidentified gunmen inside their home in Pamplona town in Camarines Sur province Thursday morning, police said.
A police report said the suspects at 6 a.m. barged into a house in Barangay (village) Veneracion where the victims Danilo Abunin Sr., 58, and Danilo Jr., 28, lived.
According to Pamplona police, the armed men were looking for a certain Danilo, but since all of the male children of the elder Danilo were named after him, they shot both the father and son.
Recovered in the crime scene were empty shells and two slugs suspected to be from a caliber .45 pistol and M16 rifle.
Police investigators were trying to establish a connection between this killing of the Abunins with the slay of Private First Class Jhonny Franco, 31, a member of 9ID’s intelligence unit based in Camp Elias Angeles in Pili town, also in Camarines Sur.
Franco was attacked by three unidentified gunmen at 10:03 a.m. on July 20 also in Barangay Veneracion, according to the Pamplona police.
