LUCENA CITY – A motorcyclist and a pedestrian died in two separate hit-and-run incidents in Quezon province early Monday and Sunday.
Reports from Quezon police headquarters said Erwin Breginia, 28, was walking along the Maharlika Highway when he was hit by a still unidentified Manila-bound vehicle passing Barangay (village) Buensuceso in Gumaca town around 12:45 a.m. Monday. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and immediately fled.
The victim died on the spot from fatal head and body injuries.
In Sariaya town, motorcyclist Joshua Gomez, 20, also died after he was accidentally hit by another unidentified vehicle traversing the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Concepcion Palasan around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The suspect also sped off after hitting the motorcycle.
The victim also died on the spot from serious body injuries.
The victim’s back-rider, Emerson Calatrava, sustained body injuries. /je
