#SONA2018: Carpet-matching ‘terno’ steals Senate style scene
Like in the past years, legislators came to the Senate in their best looks and suits on Monday for the opening of the third and final regular session of the 17th Congress.
Except for detained Senator Leila de Lima, 22 senators attended the 10 a.m. opening session at the Senate — most of them accompanied by their spouses.
“Kakulay ng carpet!” Senator Nancy Binay exclaimed, referring to her blue “terno” that matched the color of the carpet in the chamber.
“Naha-highlight ako sa carpet,” she added as she playfully posed for picture.

However, Villar’s office later said the senator’s knee-length dress was by gown designer Nolie Hans.
Senator Loren Legarda, meanwhile, wore her 10-year-old Filipiniana gown by Paul Cabral, Senator Risa Hontiveros’ Piña Jusi dress was designed by Joel Acebuche, while Senator Grace Poe’s elegant look was courtesy of a simple white knee-length dress with subtle black embroidery detail.
Some of the senators’ partners also stole the scene at the Senate: Senator Francis Escudero’s chic better half, actress Heart Evangelista; Senator Sonny Angara’s lovely wife, Tootsy; Senator Joel Villanueva’s gorgeous wife, Gladys; and Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri’s stunning wife, Audrey.
