Sotto: Duterte’s performance ‘a little better’ this year
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III on Thursday said President Rodrigo Duterte’s performance on his second year in office was “a little better” than the previous year.
Sotto was asked to comment on the President’s performance days before he delivers his third State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday.
“I would say it was a little better than [the] first year. Eh kasi mas mabilis na yung action ng executive department eh, noong first year parang medyo nangangapa pa (It’s because the executive department acts faster. On the first year, they were still making adjustments),” Sotto told reporters.
Sotto said he was “very pleased” because Duterte was the first President who prioritized his personal advocacy — addressing the nationwide problem on illegal drugs.
“We will expect that the President will enumerate all of the achievements of the administration in the last two years,” he said.
