410 Central Luzon cops to help secure Duterte Sona
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Central Luzon police are fielding 410 policemen to augment security for President Duterte’s State of the Nation Address at the House of Representatives in Quezon City.
Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, regional police director, said on Tuesday (July 17) that civil disturbance management operations would be undertaken by police officers from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, and the police offices in Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Tarlac.
Reminded that the policemen must practice maximum tolerance against the anticipated SONA protesters, he said, “They have all been placed on stand by and are ready to move.”
Two platoons of police officers and a quick reaction team have also been formed in case of requests for more assistance, Corpus said.
Corpus also ordered intensified anti-crime operations that include setting up of checkpoints along main Central Luzon roads leading to Manila.
