Trader abducted in Zamboanga Sibugay

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Armed men wearing police and military uniforms seized a 58-year-old businessman in Kabasalan town, Zamboanga Sibugay province on Sunday evening, police said.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 9, said Alejadro “Alex” Calunod Bation, a fishpond operator was inside his house in Purok-3, Barangay Nazareth in Kabasalan town when six unidentified men armed with long and short firearms wearing military and police uniforms entered the house and seized him.

The men reportedly dragged the victim outside the house towards the mini wharf and boarded one of the three motorized pump boats.

The armed men fled towards the coastal waters of Naga and Payao municipality.

The Kabasalan Municipal Police Station immediately informed the nearest stations, their military counterparts, and other friendly forces based in Zamboanga Sibugay regarding the incident.
