Man roused from sleep, killed by 4 robbers

A 62-year-old man was shot dead by four robbers who broke into his home in a poverty-stricken community in Tondo, Manila, and fled with two cell phones.

Reynaldo Alonzo died after he was shot in the head and chest by the assailants who remained at large, police said.

Alonzo was sleeping when he heard knocks on his door past 1 a.m.

When he opened the door to check, the robbers forced themselves inside the house and took two cell phones.
