Lubid Festival
The century-old “lubid” industry of Malilipot town in Albay province takes center stage in the last two days of the weeklong festival. The festival’s main event is the street presentation and exhibition (“sayaw paralubid”). Other festivities include a farmer’s day, fun run, job fair, medical mission and a music festival.
July 16 to 25
Kinabayo Festival
Article continues after this advertisementA religious festival in the city of Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte province, in honor of patron St. James the Greater, whose supposed intercession guided Christians to victory over Moro invaders in the city. The reenactment of the battle is one of the highlights of the festival. Other activities include a song writing competition, novena, a nightly Mass, fluvial pilgrimage and a grand procession.
